The monastery was founded in the 12th century and is currently the oldest Cistercian congregation in the world. As a result of numerous reconstructions in its architecture, you can see Romanesque, Renaissance, Gothic and Baroque elements. Interestingly, the gallery has portraits of all abbots since 1129.
