The Museum of the City of Bad Ischl is located in the historic building of the former Hotel Austria. It was here that Emperor Franz Joseph and Princess Elizabeth of Bavaria celebrated their engagement. The permanent exhibition presents the history of the region as a spa and summer imperial residence. At temporary exhibitions mainly works of local artists are presented.
