The Skillinge Maritime Museum (Skillinge Sjöfartsmuseum) has gathered a rich collection of items and archival documents showing the history of shipping and fishing in this region. Here you can see models of ships and old paintings, as well as interesting objects found on a nearby beach, washed ashore by sea waves.
Thanks to the exhibition, you can learn about the history of sailors and fishermen, as well as intriguing sea stories. The collection is supplemented by newspaper articles and old photos - everything about Skillinge and its inhabitants.
The seat is in a former village school built in the 19th century. The museum has been operating here since the 1970s. Today, you can see not only an interesting exhibition there, but also take part in various events. In June, the Days of the Sea are organized here, one of the main points of the program is the flea market.
