Ribersborgs kalte Bäder

Lokaler Name: Ribersborgs Kallbadhus

Ribersborg Baths is one of Sweden's oldest outdoor cold baths. It is also one of the best-preserved and constantly used objects of this type in the country. It was built in 1898. It consists of two bathing parts, a women's and a men's one, a gastronomic part and five saunas. There are piers around the pools and the sun terrace, the longest of which is 170 meters long.

The bathhouse buildings have retained their original appearance, characteristic of the seaside architecture of the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. The entire bathing area was designed by engineer Sune Engström. It was one of 20 cold baths built in Sweden from the mid-nineteenth century to the 1930s. It is worth mentioning that during the first dozen or so years each bathing season was closed with a swimming show and awards ceremony, and in 1914 there were international swimming competition here.
