Sub Arini Park

Lokaler Name: Parcul Sub Arini

The picturesque park is one of the oldest parks in Romania. It was founded in the years 1856-1865 according to the design of engineer Wolfgang Seifried. It is a great place for walks and family picnics. There are wide lawns, green alleys, a small stream and playgrounds for children.

There is also a small sports stadium in the park. The former music gazebo has been rebuilt into a modern stage. You can also see the bust of Mihai Eminescu made by the sculptor Radu Mog in the 1930s.

Currently, nearly 70 plant species grow in the park, less than half of which are exotic plants. You can find plants from Japan, China, the Himalayas, the Americas and the Alps. They include the American red oak, mahogany wood, silver spruce, Himalayan white poplar, cypress and Japanese ginkgo. About 95 species of birds live here.
