The Orthodox monastery of Rohia stands on a hillside at an altitude of 500 m above sea level. It is surrounded by a beech and oak grove. It was built in 1923. The monastery church is 22 meters long and 48 meters high. It was built on a cross plan and its architecture is dominated by the Brâncovenesc style, known as the Romanian Renaissance, with elements of the Moldavian style.
The construction of the monastery was initiated by the priest Nicolae Gherman, whose daughter Ana died at the age of only 10. He decided to found a monastery in her memory. It was one of the first monasteries built in this region after the reunification of Transylvania with Romania.
