Orthodox church of St. Spiridona was built in 1860. Its architecture is an example of an eclectic style, combining Gothic elements with motifs characteristic of Moldavian architecture. The temple is 41 m long, 14 m wide and 28 m high, which makes it the largest church in Bucharest.
The interior of the temple is decorated with marble columns and Neo-Renaissance frescoes made in 1862 by Tattarescu. It is worth paying attention to the colorful stained glass windows depicting biblical scenes and the lives of saints.
