Manuc's Inn

Lokaler Name: Hanul lui Manuc

The historic building is the oldest working hotel in Bucharest. It was built in 1808 and was renovated in 2007, keeping the original structure of the building during the renovation. Nowadays, there is also a restaurant, cafe, bar and several shops.

Initially, the building housed an inn, owned by a wealthy Armenian merchant, Manuc Bey. There were over 100 guest rooms, two spacious lounges, 23 shops, kitchens and servants' rooms. 15 underground wine cellars were built under the inn, and a garden with a fountain and a cafe were built in the spacious courtyard.

It is worth mentioning that it was here that a meeting of dignitaries was held, during which preliminary talks on the peace treaty signed in 1812 were held. It ended the Russo-Turkish war that had lasted since 1806.
