West Pier is a stone pier that surrounds Dun Laoghaire Harbor in Dublin Bay on the west. A slightly curved, narrow structure surrounds the harbor basin, where passenger ferries call. It is also a place where yachts and boats are moored. There is a small lighthouse at the end of the quay.
The pier was built between 1820 and 1827. It is about one and a half kilometers long. West Pier is primarily a walking place. Down there, seals usually bask on the rocks. If you are lucky, you can also see dolphins swimming in the sea. The pier is also used by runners and Nordic walking people. From here you can see the boats entering the marina and large passenger ferries, as well as parts of the coast further away.
