André Citroën Park
Lokaler Name: Parc André-Citroën
The Andre Citroen Park is located in the 15th arrondissement of Paris, on the site of the former Citroen car factory. It is seven themed gardens spread over 15 hectares. Its central part is a lawn with a geometric pond and a fountain. From here, you can start wandering through the surrounding gardens that inspire all the senses.
The idea of delimiting a garden in this place was born in the 1980s. Until 1970, the Citroen factory operated here. After it was closed and demolished, a degraded area full of holes and sinkholes remained. Architects Patrick Berger, Jean Francis Jodry and Jean Paul Viguier turned this place into an oasis of greenery and relaxation.
The park is divided into a central part and seven themed gardens. They were assigned different colors: green, gold, orange, silver, red, black and blue. They were juxtaposed in a way taken from alchemy with planets, metals, days of the week and the senses. Thanks to this, it was possible to create a dynamic whole in which colors, smells, textures of architectural elements and the plants themselves permeate.
