Ruinas del castillo en Bobrowniki
Nombre local: Ruiny Zamku w Bobrownikach
Ruins of a medieval castle founded by the Piast prince of Dobrzyń, Władysław Siemowitowic, known as Garbacz or Garbaty. The stronghold owes its present appearance to the reconstructions carried out in the mid-1980s. At that time, the lower parts of the walls were discovered and tears and cracks were secured. The facility is open to visitors. Since 2017, its owner is the Bobrowniki Commune.
The castle in Bobrowniki was probably built around the mid-fourteenth century. As the areas on which it was situated were disputed, from time to time it passed from Polish hands to Teutonic Knights and vice versa. During the Thirteen Years' War, a prison was even arranged for captured Teutonic knights.
The stronghold was burned down and destroyed during the wars with Sweden. As it was no longer of strategic importance, the building has remained a ruin since the 18th century. Its poor condition was additionally affected by the floods of the Vistula, regulated only in the 1980s.
