Locks built on the Midi Canal in 1996 were classified as cultural monuments and inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. The difference in height here is 21.50 meters over a length of 312 meters. It is the most visited part of the Canal du Midi, with 320,000 visitors per year.
