Museo Ribe Vikingo

The museum is dedicated to the history and culture of the Vikings with an emphasis on the history of Ribe. The collections include everyday items, bronze and pottery, jewelry and weapons, mainly from local archaeological sites and dating from 700 to 1700.

Permanent exhibitions show the realities of everyday life and trade in Ribe during the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. It is worth mentioning that during this period the city was one of the most important commercial centers in Denmark. There was a large port on the trade routes leading to cities all over Europe.

During the tour, you can see a reconstructed Viking boat and enter it. A separate exhibition is also devoted to Old Norse beliefs.
