Museo de Defensa y Guarnición

The military museum is dedicated to the history of Danish Total Defense. It is housed in a spacious hangar from the Second World War. The collections include collections of vehicles, weapons, uniforms, medical equipment and decorations. Most of the exhibits can be viewed up close and even touched. You can also get inside some armored vehicles.

Permanent exhibitions concern, among others the Danish War of 1864, World War II and the German occupation, Cold War, total defense and the Aalborg Garrison. The museum also houses the command bunker of the former military base. It is 28 m long and 14 m wide. It consists of 10 rooms, some of which have been reconstructed and equipped as during the Second World War.
