Devil's bridge

The bridge connects the banks of the wide and nearly 300 m deep Schöllenen Gorge. It was built in the mid-twentieth century. It is the third bridge erected here, and the history of the first dates back to the thirteenth century. The name refers to the local legend of the devil, who was supposed to build the first bridge here.
