San Bartolomé de Tirajana is a city and province that covers the south-eastern part of Gran Canaria. There are many resorts and beautiful beaches along the coast, and mountainous scenery in the hinterland.

The city of San Bartolomé de Tirajana lies in the upper part of the Tirajana Gorge, on the slopes of the hills. Its most important monument is the Church of San Bartolome, the construction of which began at the end of the 17th century and was completed in the interwar period. Around the city there are mountainous areas with numerous hiking trails, leading, among others, to the Degollada de La Yegua viewpoint, from which you can see the Fataga gorge. The Pilancones Nature Park is also a popular excursion destination.

The biggest attraction of San Bartolomé de Tirajana is the coast with its beautiful sandy beaches. In their vicinity there is also a vast area of dunes and the La Charca de Maspalomas backwaters with the Maspalomas Pond surrounded by dunes. These neighborhoods resemble a desert and smoothly turn into a beach. There are many resorts with hotels and holiday apartments on the coast. They have access to the beaches as well as their own facilities with swimming pools, spa and wellness centers. The Costa Canaria promenade stretches along the coast, which is a place for walks and evening meetings.
