San Juan Castle

San Juan Castle stands on a small hill Cerro Castellm, at an altitude of about 60 meters above sea level. It offers a panoramic view of both the beach and coast, as well as the city center of Lloret. You can get to it by car or on foot - the route leading to it starts on one of the city's promenades, and then runs along the sea line.

The castle was built in the 10th-11th centuries. It is surrounded by a 5-meter defensive wall, and additional protection was provided by a 3-meter-deep moat. The central part of the fortifications is a huge round tower, 18 meters high.
