Playa de los Muertos
Local name: Playa de los Muertos
Dead Beach is only a short distance from the seaside village of Carboneras. It lies at the foot of a high cliff and can only be reached on foot or by boat from the sea. It is a wild beach with no amenities, the lack of which is made up of beautiful views, crystal clear water and peaceful surroundings.
The beach is covered with light, soft sand and fine pebbles. It is located in the Cabo de Gata nature reserve. 1.2 km long and 30 m wide, it is a great place not only for sunbathing and swimming, but also for strolling along the seashore. When bathing, however, be careful of the strong sea currents occurring here.
It is also worth mentioning that there is an unofficial area for tourists at the end of the beach.
