Bobastro Ruins

The ruins of the village of Bobastro are located in the Ardales district, in an area known as Mesa de Villaverde. There was, among others, a fortress and a church carved in the rock, the partial structure of which has survived to this day. The village was the seat of Omar Ben Hafsun, who led a revolt against the caliphate government in the 9th century.
