Castle of Arcos

The castle is situated on a hill in the city of Arcos de la Frontera, surrounded by rocks. It was built in the 11th century as an Arab fortress, and rebuilt to its present shape at the turn of the 14th and 15th centuries. Since then, he has served the Christian Counts of Arcos. The castle is a protected cultural monument. It is now privately owned.
