Basilica of Santa Maria de Alicante

It is the oldest working church in Alicante. It was built on the site of the ruins of a Gothic mosque between the 14th and 16th centuries. The temple has one nave and six side shrines. In 2007, at the request of the city, the church was promoted to the rank of a basilica.
