Historic Center of Ainsa
Local name: Casco Histórico de Ainsa
The historic center of Ainsa is situated on a hill at the foot of which the Cinca and Ara rivers meet. It is one of the best-preserved old towns in the Aragonese Pyrenees. You can see a medieval castle with a history dating back to the 11th century, the remains of a defensive wall and numerous streets, among which there are historic buildings with characteristic facades.
The picturesque Plaza Mayor square with the Church of Santa Maria is also worth visiting. From its belfry there is a picturesque view of the panorama of the entire area.
