The Sanctuary of Jesus on the Rock is one of the most famous pilgrimage sites in Portugal. Located on a hill, a short distance from the village. Its history dates back to 1747, when it was founded by King Jan V in thanks for the miraculous survival of the accident. It is a baroque building with a hexagonal shape. The main altar is dedicated to Calvary. An early Christian cross was also placed here, which previously was in the chapel standing in this place. In the side chapels there are paintings of St. John and the Mother of God.
