Lagos Castle

The castle where the Lagos managers lived. It was erected on the site of a Roman fort in Arab times. Successive rulers rebuilt the castle and adapted it to changing war techniques. The castle is surrounded by massive walls with nine towers. Inside, there are areas with visible older fortifications and the castle building from the 16th century, decorated with Manueline-style decorations.
