Fort of São Bruno de Caxias

An artillery fort located on the beach, at the confluence of the Barcarena River with the Tagus estuary. It was built in the 17th century during the Portuguese War of Independence. It is a building on a starry plan, with several five bastions. Currently, the renovated fort has an association organizing educational activities for schools.
