Manor in Łopuszna

Local name: Dwór w Łopusznej

Owned in the past by the Tetmajer Family, the Manor in Łopuszna serves today as the branch of the Tatra Museum. It's an example of a typical headquarters of szlachta with a wooden house and agricultural buildings. It consists of the equipped kitchen, vestibule and the exhibition dedicated to the Tetmajer Family presented in the other rooms.

The manor was built at the end of the 18th century. The Tetmajer Family bought it in the 19th century. Kazimierz Przerwa-Tetmajer, the famous poet of the beginning of the 20th century, was a guest here. The relations of the family, which member was also painter Włodzimierz Tetmajer, with Podhale are presented on the biographical exhibition.

The manor is a wooden, ground floor building with residential attic topped by a mansard roof. Agricultural buildings contain barn, stables, cellars, and farm buildings. The museum plans to establish the Museum of Szlacha Culture here.
