Firefighting Museum of the Pomeranian Region

Local name: Muzeum Pożarnictwa Ziemi Pomorskiej

The Pomeranian Fire Museum is run by the Volunteer Fire Brigade in Łasin. The exhibits presented in it are related to firefighting and come from the 19th and 20th centuries. Among them is a unique collection of firefighting equipment, including a 15-meter wooden ladder from the late nineteenth century, water-wheels on wooden wheels from 1885-1915, or motor pumps from the interwar period. In addition, the collection includes uniforms, small equipment, banners and photos.

The museum was founded in 1976 on the initiative of the board of the local TSO. Part of the collection presents the traditions of firefighters, which around Łasin date back to the mid-nineteenth century, which can be seen by looking through old documents and photographs found among the exhibits presented. Currently, the museum is located in the TSO building, and visits should be agreed with the firefighters on duty.
