Miller's Palace - Museum in Koszalin

Local name: Pałac Młynarza - Muzeum w Koszalinie

In Koszalin on the river Dzierżęcinka you can admire the nineteenth-century mill. Next to it is the Miller's Palace, which is now the headquarters of the District Museum. In his courtyard there is Jamestown Open Air Museum.

The first mill was built in the thirteenth century, but it was destroyed during a fire that took place in 1601. In the nineteenth century a new facility of this type was built, and its equipment, technical equipment and water turbine were imported from the United States. Next to the mill, a so-called miller's palace was erected, where, after the Second World War, there was a grain mill.

The District Museum, which can be visited here, was created at the end of the last century. The collection contains numerous exhibits from Pomerania, as well as ethnic collections and artistic crafts. In the courtyard of the museum, in the open-air museum, are presented cultural monuments of rural origin from nearby areas such as forge, barn, farm and fishing hut. The museum regularly organizes outdoor events, such as the Jammein Fair and the Mill Market.
