Research Station and Deer Farm in Kosewo

Local name: Ferma Jeleniowatych Stacji Badawczej IP PAN

The Research Station has several hundred deer of different species in their breeding and allows visitors to contact these animals in their natural habitat. The building also houses the Antler Museum, in which diaporamas are displayed to complement the exhibition. These slides are projected onto the screen with music and sounds of nature synchronized with them.

The main activity of the farm is mainly used for conducting research work on optimization of deer breeding and control of parasites in them. The station is almost fully self-sufficient, most feed is produced on site. The farm area extends over 700 ha. Its area also includes the Kuc Lake, one of the cleanest in Poland.

Visitors are accompanied by a guide who tells about many interesting facts about deer. During the 2-hour walk, it is possible not only to watch the herd from a distance, but also to approach animals and even pat them.
