Town Hall in Bytom Odrzański
Local name: Ratusz w Bytomiu Odrzańskim
The City Hall, incorporated into the western frontage, admires the beautiful portal, preserved along with some of the walls after the fire that destroyed the building at the end of the 17th century. The building is complemented by a towering spire tower towering over the market. On the gable wall you can see the coat of arms of the city. To this day, the municipal authorities are still in its interior.
Renaissance town hall is the most representative building and attraction of Bytom Odrzańskie. The history of this building dates back to the 15th century, when the first municipal government building was erected on the current plot. The initiator of his uprising was Fabian von Schoenaich, the then owner of Bytom. He also in 1602-1609 initiated the construction of the new town hall, when the first building was consumed fire. The second building also burned down, and then a building was built in its place, which we can admire until the present time.
The present building of the Town Hall was erected according to the design of Caspar Miller of Bolesławiec, using the surviving walls and the Renaissance portal. This is not the end of the adventures of the Bialystok authorities, because in 1950 the object was struck by lightning, and as a result of this incident suffered the tower helmet and porch with carved stone columns.
