This unusual bridge built over the waters of the Nidelva River dates from the late seventeenth century. It was designed by Johan Caspar von Cicignon, who became famous as the author of plans to rebuild the city after a great fire in 1681. The bridge was restored in the 1860s, the work was managed by Carl Adolf Dahl.
