Mary and George Šlapeliai Museum

The museum is dedicated to the figure of Jurgis Šlapelis, a well-known linguist, educator and translator, and his wife, Maria, an opera singer and the owner of a bookstore in Vilnius, which was a mainstay of Lithuanian culture during the occupation, and which today houses the museum. The collection includes over 25,000 items, including books, photographs, personal belongings, letters and works of art.
