The famous church in the Old Town of Vilnius belongs to the building complex of Vilnius University. The Catholic church was founded by Władysław Jagiełło in a place used for pagan worship. Next to the temple there is a 68 meter high belfry adjoining the University's Column Hall. Over the centuries, in addition to religious purposes, the church also served as a museum or warehouse.
