4th Fort of the Kaunas Fortress

Fort IV's battery is part of the famous Kaunas Fortress, created to protect the western borders of the Russian Empire. It was built between 1882 and 1915. The boundaries of the territory of the fourth fort coincide with the state boundaries of the Kaunas Territorial Reserve - rare species of bats hibernating in the walls of the building.
