Onikszty is a small town that offers tourists many attractions. There is the only treetop path in Lithuania, a large Horse Museum and a narrow-gauge railway, which you can go on a trip in summer.

The village has existed since the 15th century, but its greatest development took place in the 19th century. A church was built at that time, with a 79-meter tall tower in Lithuania. On its top floor there is now an observation deck from which you can admire the panorama of the area. There is also a 19th-century church in the village.

The small town of Onikszty has many attractions for tourists. The largest is a 300-meter treetop trail with 14 nature stops and an observation tower. Near the trail, you can see the Puntukas erratic boulder, one of the largest in the country. There is also the only narrow-gauge railway in Lithuania in the village, which takes you to Rubikiai and Troszkunai in summer. The Narrow Gauge Railway Museum operates at the former station.

While visiting Onikszty, you can also visit the only Lithuanian Horse Museum, where breeding is still conducted. There are wooden stables and farm buildings, as well as a rich collection related to horse breeding and dressage. For those interested in the history of the area, the Memorial Museum will be a good place, with collections concerning Onikszty and the entire region.
