The lighthouse was put into operation in 1932 and is an octagonal tower 22 meters high with a lamp mounted on the top. The front of the massive tower is painted in a bold black and white checkerboard pattern. Today the lighthouse is fully automated and gives light visible from a distance of 15 nautical miles.
