Two lakes are located in the heart of the Julian Alps. They lie at the foot of Mount Mangart, the second largest elevation in this part of the mountain range. Noteworthy are the views surrounding the valley, as well as the mountain that rises sharply above the lakes and marks the border between Italy and Slovenia.
