Matese Regional Park

Landscape park covering the Matese mountain range in the southern Apennines. It is a rural land away from major centers and cities, where traditional stone-built villages, castle ruins and historic churches have survived. Its landscape is made up of vast valleys covered with arable fields and forests, as well as mountains rising above them reaching almost 2,000 m above sea level. The park is accessible to tourists through a network of walking and cycling routes.
