Picturesquely situated on a hillside, overlooking the Gulf of Salerno, a fourteenth century villa. It was built by the Rufolo family, but owes its present appearance to the reconstruction made by the Scot, Francis Neville Reid, who bought a decaying estate in the mid-nineteenth century.
The villa now has a small interior museum with furniture from the late nineteenth and early twentieth century, but its biggest attraction are terraced gardens that look like hanging over the bay. Geometric flower beds surrounded by lawns with sheared trees and shrubs in the corners create wonderful compositions that bloom almost all year round.Less
