Radicofani Fortress
Local name: Fortezza di Radicofani
Ruins of one of the most spectacular fortresses in Tuscany. It is located on a hill above the town of Radicofani and now only a tower with fragments of walls remains. The buildings are surrounded by bastion fortifications that form an irregular star. In the 13th century, Messer Ghino di Tacco, called the Italian Robin Hood, lived in the castle because he fought the exploitation of the local population. The fortress is a great viewpoint on the surrounding area.
