A defensive castle erected in the 14th century, expanded and strengthened in 1539 by Emperor Charles V Habsburg. It is a building on a rectangular plan, with corner towers and massive defensive walls. The interiors of renovated residential buildings now house a cultural center with exhibition halls, an auditorium and a concert hall.
