The monastery was founded in the first half Fourteenth century by carthusians. Located on Mount Acuto, the complex from the second half Of the 20th century belongs to the Cistercian order. The monastery's premises include Acciaiuoli palace with an art gallery and the 14th-century church of San Lorenzo.
