Carloforte is the only village on the small island of San Pietro. It is an intimate seaside resort, and at the same time a destination for people vacationing in neighboring Sardinia.
San Pietro combines beautiful nature with a rich culture and picturesque buildings of Carloforte. The town is perfectly integrated into the landscape and invites tourists with a small port, colorful, low houses standing in cobbled streets and lots of greenery. Among the monuments of Carloforte are the church of Novelli Innocenti, the construction of which began around 1000, the San Vittorio tower, which now houses the Multimedia Museum and the astronomical observatory, and the Cineteatro Giuseppe Cavallera, built in the Art Nouveau style.
Around Carloforte, there is no shortage of sandy beaches and picturesque parts of the cliff coast. In the vicinity of the island, you can also dive and do water sports, and the local restaurants are known for their excellent fish dishes, including tuna prepared according to the traditional recipe.
