The Waterford County Museum is located in the old Dungarvan City Hall. It presents the history and culture of the western part of this region. Here you can see documents, maps, ship equipment, weapons and uniforms from different time periods, as well as a collection of photos and videos about the county.
The museum was established in 1982, and since 1999 it has been located in the 18th century building of the former town hall. It is divided into a section for permanent and temporary exhibitions and an audiovisual room where you can see photos, videos and presentations about the history of Dungarvan and the surrounding area.
Museum exhibitions show the area's relationship with the sea, Dungarvan's mercantile past, and highlights from the county's history. There are exhibits related to the period of the Great Famine, the struggle of the Irish for independence and the participation of local troops in World War I and II.
