Clare County is known primarily for the monumental Cliffs of Moher, which in the highest places exceed 200 m in height. It is also a region with long traditions of holiday tourism and a good starting point to the islands of Aran in Galway.

The capital of Clare is the medieval city of Ennis, which has retained its former street layout. You can see here, among others Gothic Franciscan abbey and an interesting museum depicting the history, culture and connections of the region with nature. Ennis is also full of pubs and bars where live music is played on weekends.

In the vicinity of Ennis there are several interesting places related to the history and culture of Ireland. The first of these is Bunratty Castle, one of the best preserved in the country where the live open-air museum operates. Not far away is the 15th century Knappogue Castle, where knights' tournaments and feasts are organized. Another attraction is the Craggaunowen archaeological museum depicting the lives of the inhabitants of these areas in the Bronze Age.

However, what attracts the most tourists to the county are its landscapes. Cliffs of Moher are among the most important attractions in the country. In addition to the walking path, there is a large educational center where you can learn how cliffs were created and learn about their nature. Further inland extends the Burren Plateau, an unusual, harsh land that, in addition to rock vegetation, offers visitors the opportunity to see dozens of dolmens.

The Clare coast is known for its sandy beaches, small coves and excellent conditions for water sports. You can find here Lahinch recognized as the Irish capital of windsurfing.
