MOSFELLSBÆRIceland
Álafoss Waterfall
Local name: Álafoss
The small waterfall on the Varma River played an important role in the founding and development of the city of Mosfellsbær. From 1896, it was used to fuel the wool factory. Currently, the company does not use the power of the river, but its old buildings still stand in the vicinity of the waterfall.
