PALIKI tourist attractions

Stakes is a peninsula in Kefalonia with some nice beaches and small fishing and farming villages. Although the local Xi beach is one of the most popular on the island, the whole area has a very peaceful character, unspoiled by mass tourism.

In antiquity, there was a small town on the peninsula, the ruins of which can be seen in its northern part. In Roman times, there were several villas here. These include valuable mosaics that are now on display in the Kefalonia Museum.

Tourist traffic on Paliki is concentrated mainly in its southern part, on Vatsa Bay and in the area of the town of Lixuri, where the famous Xi Beach is located. It is famous for its red sand and the beautiful surroundings of white cliffs. The beach is very well developed and has catering and accommodation facilities.
