The beautiful, late Gothic basilica is the largest church in the city. From 1625 to 1647 it was also the tallest building in the world. The first notes about the church at this place come from 1298. The 104 m high tower has an observation deck with a beautiful panorama of Stralsund and the surrounding area and the island of Rügen.
