Rheinfels Castle

The ruins of one of the largest castles in the Rhineland. They are located on a hill above the river valley. Until today, buildings around 1/3 of the original size of the castle have survived. Fragments of 2 rings of defensive walls with towers, as well as the remains of residential buildings survived. Part of the castle has been restored and a hotel operates in it.
