Abbey of Valmagne
Local name: Abbaye de Valmagne
Former abbey of banedictines and Cistercians founded in the mid-12th century. The buildings have been used since the French Revolution as a place for lining wine. Huge wooden barrels with wine were placed in the Gothic church and the adjoining monastery. The abbey is surrounded by vineyards started by the Cistercians. They cover an area of 70 hectares.
